IRISH TUNE

IRISH TUNE
(Casadh An Tsúgáin)

This sings
wind on bare fields blowing
to the wide horizon where
light is passing and one dark
figure plods home to peat fire.

This sings
dying of the autumn dusk,
last gold's gleam on yellow leaves;
coming of the colder night,
silent stars resounding light.
